Condition (used):  poor fair for age  (see below) - SOLD AS SEEN - the colour plates are generally still good and eminently framable but there is extensive and significant damage throughout, please study the pictures to appraise yourself as to the condition - edge/corner wear, marks/grubbiness to the cover and external spine, many of the stiff card pages are loose, otherwise marks and wear commensurate with age and use.

Other information: hardback without dust jacket - really interesting and extremely rare old book with 21 beautiful colour plates by Ferdinand Engelmüllera (1867-1924) on stiff card in a concertina-style pull-out format  "In Mařáková landscape atelier he studied from 1889 to 1894. In 1897 he opened a private school of painting, in which trained a number of landscape painters of the new generation. This school has become, in 1924, preparations for the academy, subsidized by the government. In his work, which spans a period of thirty years, Engelmüller excelled as a sensitive painter of melancholy moods in nature. This sentimentality was close to his teacher, he did not follow him into the forest stillness, but in the vast region, which captures the atmosphere of early evenings trembling or the dying days. I also wandered into the abandoned castle parks, gardens and old Prague monastic retreats. He was one of the best Mařákovým pupils." (Google Translation) - may be of some interest to a collector.
