Condition (used):  generally fair for age  (see below) - no dust jacket, the cover/spine has edge/corner wear and general wear/marks/grubbiness with some discolouration, particularly in the spine area which also has some wear to the cloth binding, some paper separation between end page and back cover (internal binding unaffected), there is a scribbled out ink name to the title page, otherwise fair with fairly light marks commensurate with age and use - the pages are generally fair/good with light tanning throughout and occasional light foxing and minor grubbiness.

Identifying marks or labels etc:  "London : WH Allen & Co Limited 13 Waterloo Place and at Calcutta 1891".

Other information: hardback without dust jacket - a very rare book in this edition "The Theory Of The Chess Openings by G.H.D. Gossip Author Of The Chess-Player's Manual The Chess-Player's text-Book etc etc Second  Edition Revised And Improved With all The Latest Discoveries Up To date" - may be of some interest to a collector.
