Condition (used):  fair for age (see below) - this was probably a cigar or cigarette box in an earlier life and would almost certainly have had a wooden liner, most of the plate silver (or whatever metal it is) has rubbed away, there are a few grubby marks and some small patches that have tarnished otherwise fairly minor marks commensurate with age and use.

Identifying marks or labels etc:  none apart from a tiny stamp on the base which is very difficult to make out, possibly one (or maybe two) triangles or mountains superimposed on each other or possibly something completely different.

Other information:  interesting old tin about which we know nothing - we are uncertain as to its age but would suggest circa early twentieth century  - may be of some interest to a collector.

Approximate dimensions:    15.5cm (length), 9cm (width).

Approximate weight:  600g.
