Condition (used): generally good/very good for age in fair box (see below) - believed to be complete, this edition contains the following elements: 2 ½ folding boards incorporating 2 separate tracks, 2 wooden dice, 12 plastic horses, 20 lease cards, 20 disadvantage cards, 36 trainer's report cards (18 red and 18 blue), 48 green betting slips, 20 black advantage cards, 20 red, 20 blue, 20 yellow, 1 barely used totaliser sheet pad with unused sheets, a good selection of uncounted money, 1 rules leaflet - NB the owners club memberships cards and veterinary surgeon's report cards are omitted in these newer versions of the game - the box has some fairly minor corner/edge wear and general light grubbiness and marks including perforated damage to the lid and some compression/bowing to the tray, the playing surfaces of the board are very good, the horses are undamaged, the instruction leaflet is a little worn with some light grubbiness and creasing and very slightly corroded staples, otherwise the contents are all very good/excellent with very minor marks commensurate with age and use.

Other information: fantastic vintage game, this set would appear to come from the 1972 - 1978 period, the horses are semi-flat plastic, with stick-on numbers and the box dimensions are smaller than earlier versions, approaching the more conventional board game size of the this era. The design on the lid changes and incorporates the horse racing silhouette graphic from the earlier editions. The board is stiff and comes in 2 two-fold sections which come together to form the tracks). The Jockey Club Membership and Veterinary Report cards were omitted from this edition - may be of some interest to a collector.
