Condition (used):  generally good for age in poor  box (see below) - this set is INCOMPLETE missing at least two balls and two markers, we're not sure about the hoops - this game includes the following elements: 4 wooden mallets; 2/4 wooden balls; 4 metal hoops; the instructions are in the lid - the box is very worn with corner/edge wear, general heavy marks/wear/grubbiness/discolouration including significant damage and missing sides, the wooden parts have some very light grubbiness, otherwise minor marks commensurate with age and use.

Identifying marks or labels etc:  "Spear's Games JWS & S Bavaria".

Other information:  good old game from Spear's and now very rare in this edition (German Red Box), we are not entirely sure of the age but would suggest circa 1910s to 1920s -  "W. Spear and Sons was a significant manufacturer of board games during the 20th century. The company was founded by Jacob Wolf Spier (1832-1893) in Fürth, near Nuremberg, Germany in 1879, In 1932, they set up a factory in Brimsdown, Enfield, Britain to avoid customs duties. With the rise to power of the Nazis and the Spear family being Jewish, some members of the family moved to Britain" source: wikipedia - may be of some interest to a collector.
