Condition (used):  generally fair for age (see below) - no dust jacket, the cover/spine has some fairly minor edge/corner wear and general wear/marks/grubbiness/discolouration, ink names and addresses to flyleaf, some light foxing to flyleaf and end pages, slight looseness to the binding, otherwise the book is fair/good with fairly light marks commensurate with age and use - the pages are generally good with no significant tanning throughout.

Identifying marks or labels etc:  "Geoffrey Cumberlege Oxford University Press...printed 1946 in Great Britain".

Other information: hardback without dust jacket -  a fairly rare book believed to be a first edition with great period illustrations including a colour frontispiece by Howard Leigh - "Biggles & Co Captain WE Johns Illustrations by Howard Leigh and Alfred Sindall" - may be of some interest to a collector.
