Condition (used): fair/good for age (see below) - not a salt and pepper cruet set but two identical pepper pots (see photo) - would benefit from a clean - couple of little chips to one example, on brim of bonnet and toe of left shoe - otherwise light general wear commensurate with age and use.
Identifying marks or labels etc: "Japan"; "Imported By Giftcraft, Toronto" (see photo).
Other information: recently acquired as part of a large collection of novelty cruet sets - we are unsure as to the exact provenance but these pieces appear to date from around the 1930s to 50s and are Japanese in origin - these ones are fashioned as Mrs Christmas/Mrs Clause and were evidently retailed in Toronto, Canada - seasonal ceramic matching items with plastic stoppers (see photo) - may be of some interest to a collector.
