Condition (used):  poor/fair for age (see below) - several hairline cracks to lid (see photo) - a number of little chips to protruding decorative flowers and around black rim of pot - otherwise intact with some general wear commensurate with age and use.

Identifying marks or labels etc:  stamped "Maruhon Ware - K - Made In Japan -  pat. No. 67465".

Other information:  recently acquired as part of a large collection of colourful novelty ceramics - we are unsure as to the exact provenance but most pieces appear to date from around the 1930s to 50s and these ones are Japanese in origin - possibly once part of a dressing table set - may be of some interest to a collector.

Approximate dimensions:   10cm (diameter); 7cm (height including lid).

Approximate weight:  220g.
