Condition (used): barely fair for age in (see below) - SOLD AS FOUND for restoration - please study the pictures to appraise yourself as to the condition - missing the key, one end of the internal wooden lip has snapped off and will need re-glueing, there are some patches where the external veneer has come away and these will need replacing, otherwise fairly minor marks and light grubbiness commensurate with age and use.

Other information: attractive little item with nicely carved decoration to the lid and sides with a floral design including two birds and an elaborate oriental building, suggesting that this hails originally in the far east, probably India, luckily this aspect of the box is not damaged, the box has a brass lock and velvet lining to the lid, not entirely sure of the age but almost certainly somewhere during the mid twentieth century - may be of some interest to a collector.
